Woman burnt alive in Multan, CM takes notice

MULTAN (92 News) – a woman was burnt alive by unknown people in her house in Makhdoom Rashid area on Monday. The accused tied Perveen Akhtar to a ‘charpoy’ and set her ablaze. Before fleeing, they locked the room and then the main gate. Locals broke opened the door after seeing smoke from the house, put out the fire and informed the police. Perveen Akhtar was alone at her house at the time of the incident. Her husband Iqbal Shah told the police that his children used to quarrel with Perveen Akhtar. She belongs to a well-off family and had retired from a government job about three months ago. The police have shifted the body to Nishtar Hospital for autopsy and started investigations. Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has taken notice of the incident and sought a report from the RPO.
