Woman commits suicide after paying Rs10,000 electricity bill in Jahanian

JAHANIAN (92 News) - A woman committed suicide after paying the electricity bill of Rs10,000 in Chak No. 114/10R on Monday.

Her husband told police that he was a daily wager and earned Rs400 per day.

He said that he had paid the electricity bill of Rs10,000 after selling his household articles and getting some loan.

"However, the MEPCO officers did not restore the power supply to my house. After paying the bill, we had no money to get food. My wife Hamna was worried as our children had no food for the last two days," he added.

He said that his wife consumed poisonous pills when he was at work. "Our neighbours shifted her to hospital where she died," he added.
