Woman gives birth to baby in ambulance in Faisalabad

FAISALABAD (92 News) – A woman gave birth to a baby in ambulance while being shifted from one hospital to another on Saturday. Deputy Commissioner Salman Ghani has taken notice of the incident and formed a four-member committee to probe the matter. Shazia, a resident of Tandlianwala, was taken to THQ Hospital from where doctors referred her to DHQ Hospital due to blood shortage. Her relatives told 92 News that doctors in THQ Hospital refused to treat her, while the ambulance driver reached there after a delay. After the delivery, the woman was shifted to Tandlianwala THQ Hospital. On the other hand, the inquiry committee has held the driver responsible for the incident. The CEO Health said that the driver had reached the duty late and as result, the patient reached the hospital late. The medical superintendent said that there is no arrangement of a blood bank in THQ Hospital. He said that the duty doctor at night had referred her to DHQ Hospital to save the woman and newborn.
