Woman national footballer Shahlyla Baloch laid to rest

KARACHI (92 News) – Pakistan women national football striker Shahlyla Baloch was laid to rest in Kalat’s Shahi graveyard on Friday. Earlier, the funeral prayer was led by Moulana Abdul Latif Shah of Shahi Mosque Kalat. A large number of people attended the Namaz-e-Janaza. They included tribal elders, politicians religious scholars and people from various walks of life. Women national football team striker Shahlyla Baloch passed away yesterday after her car met an accident in Karachi's DHA Phase VIII area late Wednesday night. Shahlyla Baloch, 20, was the front face of Pakistan women football, she participated in mega events like South Asian Football Federation Women Football Championship and SAFF Women’s Championship. She was considered as one of the finest strikers of Pakistan's women national football team. Playing for the team, she donned the iconic number 7 jersey. It was her stint in Maldives in 2014 SAFF Women's Championship, where she became the first Pakistan female footballer to score a hat-trick against Bhutan, which made her famous.
