Won't leave people of Karachi alone at any cost, says Sindh governor

KARACHI (92 News) – Sindh Governor Imran Ismail has said that the federal government will not leave the people of Karachi alone at any cost. He was presiding over a high-level meeting held to devise strategy for cleanliness of the city at Governor's House on Friday. He said that Gujjar Nullah, Liaquatabad and Sher Shah Suri Road located along Green Line are the troubled spots. "There are problems in PCHS due to encroachments," he added. NDMA Chairman Lt Gen Muhammad Afzal said that briefed the Sindh governor about the disposal of water. "Prime Minister Imran Khan is worried about Karachi. He has approved a summary for the resolution of the problems of Karachi on permanent basis," he said. The Sindh governor said that the federal government wants development of the city – an economic hub – on priority basis During the meeting, it was briefed that the reason behind accumulation of rainwater is the faulty design of Green Line Bus. It was also told that there are 38 drains of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) and there are 514 small drains. Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Zaidi, Karachi Mayor Waseem Akhtar and MPA Firdous Shamim Naqvi were also present.
