ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The All Pakistan Food and Vegetable Exporters Association (APFVEA) has assured Prime Minister Imran Khan that they will not let shortage of food in the country during the coronavirus crisis. Talking to 92 News on Wednesday, APFVEA patron-in-chief Waheed Ahmed said that they would import vegetables and fruits from each nook and corner of the world. He asked the government to establish a central control room to ensure uninterrupted supply of vegetables and fruits. “We are ready to assist the government if there is a problem of food security in the country. The crisis is not for 5-10 days. It will prolong,” he added. Waheed Ahmed said that the government will have to devise a strategy to overcome food shortage. “There is an abundant quantity of tomatoes, potatoes and onions in the country. Shortage of food items can emerge if we do not organize the system,” he maintained.
