LONDON (92 News) – After preliminary hearing of the defamation case against Shehbaz Sharif, Justice Sir Matthew Nicklin of the UK court ruled that wording of the Daily Mail article was a source of insult to Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif.

Counsels for Daily Mail admitted that allegations of corruption and money laundering against Shehbaz Sharif were limited and based on assumptions. "There is no accusation of money laundering against Shehbaz Sharif, but his family's involvement cannot be ruled out," he added.

Counsels for Daily Mail cited the statement of Adviser to the PM on Accountability Shahzad Akbar regarding money laundering investigations against Shehbaz Sharif.

Counsel for Shehbaz Sharif stated that the Daily Mail article comprised of baseless allegations instead of proofs.

"The article first gave the example of links between Shehbaz Sharif and the British government and later levelled the allegations of corruption against him," he stated.
