KARACHI (92 News) – World Pneumonia Prevention Day is being observed across the country on Monday. The purpose of this day is to take precautionary measures and administer vaccine to save children from the disease. According to health experts, 2,900 people die from pneumonia daily across the world, 200 children fall victim to the epidemic in Pakistan. The initial symptoms of pneumonia include cough, difficulty in taking breathe and loss of appetite, say health experts. They added that pneumonia prevention vaccination is available in EPI (Expanded Programme on Immunization) program of the Sindh Health Department. Health experts suggest that parents should administer free vaccine to their children at the designated centres of the Health Department.
