World Teachers' Day observed

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – World Teachers Day was observed across the world with its theme “Invest in the Future, Invest Teachers”. The teachers and students of different educational institutions, education activists, and representatives of various local and international organizations expected to participate in various rallies, seminars and gatherings. Different seminars, conferences and talk shows are being held countrywide to highlight the importance of teachers. World Teachers’ Day marks the anniversary of the signing of the ILO/UNESCO Recommendation concerning the Status of Teachers in 1966, which establishes the rights and responsibilities of teachers, international standards for their initial preparation and further education, recruitment and employment. Teachers have one of the most important responsibilities on the planet in that they are tasked with shaping generations of children – a fact recognized on UNESCO’s annual World Teachers’ Day.
