Worst power breakdown hits Karachi due to fault in national grid

KARACHI (92 News) – Several area lost the power supply due to a fault in the national grid on Wednesday.

Due to the fault, Bin Qasim Power Plants of K-Electric tripped, while K-Electric's system became dysfunctional due to tripping of the high-tension line at Jamshoro.

As many as 1,400 feeders, out of 1,900 feeders, tripped. As a result, several areas, including Nursery, Mahmoodabad, Gulshan Iqbal, Liaquatabad, Manzoor Colony and Hassan Square, lost the power supply.

Due to the power shutdown, the water supply from the pumping stations was also suspended.
