Wrong to blame any individual for Pakistan’s poor show: Hafeez
June 21, 2019
LONDON (92 News) – Pakistani all-rounder and former Pakistan captain Mohammad Hafeez has said that any single individual from the team could not be blamed for poor show. With the ICC World Cup in full swing, the Men in Green drilled during a practice session at Lord's Cricket Ground Pakistani team coach Mickey Arthur and batting coach Grant Flower gave tips to team players. Pakistani bowlers were seen in action at the bowling nets, whereas batsmen hone their skills as the team prepared to take on South Africa in their sixth match of the tournament on June 23. Speaking to the journalists, Hafeez said that everyone, from the players to the management, was responsible for the team’s performance so far and that any single individual could not be blamed. The all-rounder said that the last few days have been very painful for him and his team as the national side has come under severe criticism following their poor show in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. “We failed collectively as a team. We could not produce a team effort and individual brilliance did not help us either. In cricket these days, you need team performance…input from everyone,” Hafeez highlighted. “We can't blame any single person, everyone is responsible for failing to deliver,” the former captain said.
