Patients suffer as young doctors go on strike again

LAHORE (92 News) – The Young Doctors Association (YDA) has on Tuesday protest against attempts to arrest a young doctor in a corruption case. The YDA is observing complete strike in Services Hospital, while Out Patient Departments (OPDs) of government hospitals across the province including Lahore will be closed. The closure of OPDs of major hospitals across the province including Lahore caused huge inconvenience to visiting patients. Patients are not getting timely treatment while those who are coming from far flung areas are forced to return without any medical assistance. According to YDA spokesman, the anti-corruption officials tortured the association’s vice-president Dr Atif at the hospital’s emergency ward. “The YDA shut down the hospital’s emergency ward after the incident,” the spokesman said.
