ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Young doctors scuffled with the police during a protest against the National Licensing Examination (NLE) on Tuesday.

The protesters who reached G-19 Markaz from across the country tried to enter the building of the Pakistan Medical Commission.

The protesters pelted the police with stones and quarreled with them. The police resorted to baton-charge and teargas.

Later, the police arrested several doctors and shifted them to the police stations.

Meanwhile, the Young Doctors Association called an emergency meeting at PIMS Hospital. They threatened to observe a strike if the arrested doctors were not arrested.

They said that they had been protesting peacefully for the last one year. "The government is responding to our demand with a club. We will continue the protest till fulfillment of our demands," they added.
