Yousuf Raza Gilani will be defeated by 39 votes in Senate election: Fawad

LAHORE (92 News) - Federal Minister Fawad Chaudhry has claimed that PDM's joint candidate and former premier Yousuf Raza Gilani will be defeated by 39 votes in Senate elections.

While talking in the program of 92 News "Night Edition", Fawad Chaudhry said that Finance Minister Hafeez Shaikh will easily bag his election seat on March 3 and defeat the PDM joint candidate.

Commenting about holding Senate polls via open ballot, Fawad Chaudhry said that according to the legal situation, the elections should be held through a show of hand.

Fawad Chaudhry said that PDM has gambled by fielding Gilani, adding that the opposition parties became stubborn like children for secret balloting in the Senate polls. "If a party gets more seats than its votes, the question will arise," he added.

Fawad Chaudhry said that Maryam Nawaz will have to stay in Pakistan. "Fulfill your passion for politics by marching long," he maintained.

It is pertinent to mention here that Senate polls are scheduled to take place on March 3.
