Zarb-e-Azb: First phase of IDPs’ return starts from Tank

TANK:  Internally displaced persons (IDP) from the Federally Administered Tribal Area (FATA) will start their journey back home from today (Monday), 92 News reported. In the first phase, some 25,000 families belonging to Sararogha and Sarakai tehsils of South Waziristan (SWA) will return to their hometowns. Pakistan Army has constructed residential colonies to accommodate the IDPs. After the completion of this phase, people belonging to the Khyber Agency will start their journeys home from March 20. In this phase, 20,000 people from Akakhel tehsil of Bara will return home. Following this, some 18,000 people belonging to Mir Ali tehsil of North Waziristan (NWA) will make their journey home from March 31. The process will take one complete month to repatriate over a million displaced people to their homes.   Each family will be given a sum of 35,000 Rupees; 10,000 for travelling costs and 25,000 for general expenditure. In order to make the transfer of money transparent, ATM cards are being issued to the families.
