ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Former president Asif Zardari and his sister Faryal Talpur failed to appear before the joint investigation team (JIT) in the money laundering and fake accounts case. Meanwhile, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has decided to move the Supreme Court. The decision to re-summon both accused will be made on court orders. Farooq H Naik, counsel for former president Asif Zardari, appeared before the FIA committee and contended that elected candidates have to appear before the RO of their respective constituency. The FIA had summoned Asif Zardari and his sister Faryal Talpur had summoned them to record their statement. Asif Zardari’s close aide Hussain Lawai is also under arrest in the case. Faryal Talpur, while submitting Rs two million as surety bonds, said that money laundering has not been mentioned in the FIR and her role is not clear in the challan. She denied the charges against her.
