Zardari turns Larkana into ‘Aidstan’, says Sheikh Rasheed

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed on Friday termed that former president and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari turned Larkana into ‘Aidstan’. Speaking to the journalists, the railways minister said that criticized Zardari over recent HIV outbreak in Sindh. He asked the former president to look towards Larkana saying he has turned the province, where his party is in power, into ‘Aidstan’. “Had these cases emerged in Ethiopia, Somalia and Congo, (rulers in these countries0 would have kicked the bucket,” he said. Shikeh Rasheed said the politicians who remained involved in the plunder of public funds proudly said they faced 36 cases. He asked why they were being released from jail on bail. Commenting on the devaluation of Pakistani rupees, the minister said that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari are responsible for the increasing dollar price against the Pakistani rupees. It is perintne to mention here that more than 500 people, many of them children, have tested HIV positive in recent weeks in Larkana alone.
57 more HIV positive cases surface in Ratto Dero, tally rises to 400
On May 12, as many as 57 more human immunodeficiency viruses (HIV) positive cases were detected on Sunday , increasing tally to 400 including more than 300 children. Sindh AIDS Control Program in-charge Dr Sikandar Memon has confirmed the increase in the number of patients. On Sunday, blood screening of 57 people was conducted, including 300 children, tested positive. Earlier, the joint investigation team (JIT) had visited the clinic of the arrested quack Muzaffar Ghangro. They had taken the material, including samples and syringes, into custody. Doctor Muzaffar Ghangro was arrested on directive of the deputy commissioner on accusation of spreading the disease. Muzaffar Ghangro has rejected the allegation. The joint investigation team (JIT) had collected the record about the patients. Meanwhile, three children were dead due to the disease in Larkana. SP Babr Memon said that the post-mortem of dead children can be conducted if needed.
