KARACHI (92 News) – Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Chairman Mufti Muneebur Rehman has announced that the Zil-Hajj was not sighted and Eidul Azha will be celebrated across the country on August 1. Talking to the media after a meeting of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee on Saturday, he said that they had not received the evidence of moon-sighting from any part of the country. “The weather was cloudy at majority of places in the country.” He said that the first of Zil-Hajj will be on July 23. In Saudi Arabia, Zil-Hajj moon was not sighted in Saudi Arabia on Monday and hence first of Zil-Hajj will be on July 22. Youm-e-Arfa will be on July 30 and Eidul Azha will be on July 31. Saudi Arabia had decided in June to limit the number of domestic pilgrims attending the Hajj to around 1,000 to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, after barring Muslims abroad from the rite for the first year in modern times.
