Zohra Bibi’s death: YDA protests on action as per PEEDA act

LAHORE (92 News) – The Young Doctors Association (YDA) staged a protest on action against them according to Punjab Employees Efficiency, Discipline and Accountability (PEEDA) Act.

The action was taken against a doctor over the death of 60-year-old Zohra Bibi on the floor of Jinnah Hospital due to the non-availability of bed.

The YDA was of the view that the responsibility of provision of beds and ambulances is of the hospital administration and not the doctors.

The doctors staged a protest in Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) for the second day on Thursday. The doctors carried out a protest walk from PIC outdoor to Jail Road. They said that the government should not blame us for their failure.

The YDA further said that holding the doctor responsible for Zohra Bibi’s death after clearing him in the case is administration’s dishonesty.

The protest of the doctors also created a traffic mess at Jail Road.
