AC Judge Extension: SC takes notice, summons law secretary
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Mian Saqib Nisar on Wednesday taken notice of failure to extend the tenure of Accountability Court (AC) Judge Mohammad Bashir, who is hearing the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) references against Sharif family.
The CJP summoned federal law secretary to inform the court on the summary for the extension of Accountability Court (AC) Judge Mohammad Bashir.
While giving his remarks, Justice Saqib Nisar said that nothing was done on the summary for the extension of Judge Mohammad Bashir as his tenure was going to end on March 12.
The CJP said that the court will hear the case after a short recess.
On February 21, Ministry of Law sought names for the appointment of accountability court judge to which the Islamabad High Court (IHC) Chief Justice Justice Anwar Khan Kansi sent the summary for three year extension of Judge Mohammad Bashir.
Muhammad Bashir was hearing the National Accountability Court (NAB) corruption references against the Sharif family and former finance minister Ishaq Dar and his tenure was to end on March 12.
