Accountability court refuses to extend Qasim Zia’s remand
LAHORE (92 News) – The Accountability Court on Monday refused to extend physical remand of former Punjab president Qasim Zia in alleged fraud case.
The accused Qasim Zia was presented before the Accountability Court during which the investigation officers requested to extend Qasim Zia’s physical remand as they were unable to submit evidence against him.
The lawyers of Qasim Zia said that the NAB’s appeal of extending remand is baseless, adding that there is no need to hand him over to NAB for further interrogation.
After listening, the judge of the accountability court rebuffed to extend former chairman Pakistan Hockey Federation’s physical remand.
Talking to media after court proceedings, the lawyers of Qasim Zia said that the NAB failed to produce evidence against him.
