Ahsan Iqbal for action against those issuing fatwas on social media

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal has on Friday said that Playing with religious sentiments is a big crime and the religious leadership should come forward and expose the negative trends.

Addressing on the floor of the Lower House of the Parliemant, he said that action would be taken against those issuing fatwas on social media under Cyber Crime laws.

The minister said that the politics on religious matters is crime, adding that the enemy wants Muslims to fight each others.

Ahsan Iqbal went on to say that only the state holds right to declare armed Jihad in an Islamic republic.


The Interior Minister said foreign funded elements are targeting soft targets in the country to create an environment of fear and panic amongst people.

He said Pakistan is committed to fighting against terrorism and Jhal Magsi like cowardly incidents cannot shake our resolve.
