ADB announces $225 million for Peshawar flood affectees, TDPs

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has announced 225 million dollars aid package for Peshawar flood affectees and temporarily displaced persons (TDPs).

The announcement was made by Country Head ADB Werner Liepach during his meeting with Finance Minister Ishaq Dar in Islamabad on Wednesday.

The relief package will be released by the end of the next month.

Ishaq Dar on this occasion said it was the priority of the government to create a Disaster Risk Fund on permanent basis to cater for any future natural calamities.

Liepach further said that ADB was interested in helping Pakistan in energy sector projects.
