Administration to detain me if they have courage, challenges Ayaz
LAHORE (92 News) – Challenging caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Hassan Askari, former National Assembly speaker Ayaz Sadiq said that the administration to detain me if they have the courage.
Talking to the press conference with Pakistan Muslim League-N leaderSaad Rafique, Ayaz Sadiq said that the Punjab interim chief minister is responsible for the surprise detentions of the PML-N workers.
“you have seat of the chief minister only for two months then you have to leave this seat,” Ayaz warned Hassan Askari. “If you have courage, I dare you to arrest me!,” he added. Slamming the widespread arrests of their party workers, he called for their immediate release.
On the other hand, Saad Rafique said that the former prime minister is returning back to the country for surrender himself over the court verdict. “Our workers wish to go to Lahore Airport in a peaceful manner to welcome Nawaz Sharif”, Rafique said.
He also slammed the administration that these sudden arrests have us concerned, adding that over 100 of the PML-N leaders and party workers have been arrested by now. He claimed that the administration has ordered the arrests of more than 300 others.
He demanded the interim Punjab government and the caretaker prime minister to immediately release arrested workers. The PML-N leader noted that his party would announce its next plan of action should the arrested workers not be released by noon today (July 12).
