Adnan Sami granted Indian citizenship
NEW DELHI (92 News) – The Indian Ministry of Home Affairs has on Thursday granted Indian citizenship to renowned singer Adnan Sami.
According to Indian media reports, the citizenship shall be applicable from January 1, 2016.
The 43-year-old singer, whose request was rejected some two years ago, had sent his application to the Foreigners’ Division of the Indian Home Ministry earlier this year.
Sami, who has a Pakistani passport, had arrived in India in 2001. He has a business and professional visa.
