Air Chief Sohail Aman calls on US Air Force Chief of Staff at Pentagon
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force, called on General Mark A Welsh III, Chief of Staff USAF in his office at USAF Headquarters, Pentagon, at Washington DC on Thursday.
Both the dignitaries discussed matters of mutual interest.
Air Chief Sohail Aman highlighted the contributions of Pakistan armed forces in the ongoing Operation Zarb-e-Azb and underscored the leading role being played by Pakistan Air Force.
Talking about the internal security situation of the country, the air chief reiterated Pakistan’s resolve for eliminating the menace of terrorism from the country.
He told his counterpart that sound relationship between Pakistan and Afghanistan is the key to the success of peace process in the region.
He also emphasized on the capacity enhancement of PAF in terms of fighter jets, advanced weaponry and allied equipment. He also stressed upon the conduct of mutual exercises between the two air forces to benefit from each others’ experiences.
During the meeting, the Air Chief thanked his counterpart for extending support towards PAF’s capacity building to effectively undertake counter terrorist operations.
General Mark A Welsh III lauded PAF’s sound professionalism and its leading role in ongoing anti-terrorist operations.
Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force is presently on an official visit to the USA and would also be addressing the participants of National defense University, USA, during his visit.
