Ali Haider Gillani to reach Lahore Today
LAHORE (92 News) – Ali Haider Gillani, the son of former prime minister Yusuf Raza Gillani, who was recovered on Tuesday (yesterday) from Afghanistan’s Ghazni province, will reach Lahore from Kabul today (Wednesday).
He will be flown home (Lahore) from Kabul in a special aircraft of the prime minister.
Sweets are being distributed outside Gillani House, while the die-hard workers of Pakistan People’s Party are dancing on the drum beats expressing their happiness over the recovery of former prime minister’s son.
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had tweeted on social media website saying that former prime minister Yousaf Raza Gillani received a call from ambassador of Afghanistan saying that the his son Haider Gillani has been recovered in a successful operation.
Afghan National Security Adviser Muhammad Hanif Atmar had called the Adviser to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz and informed that Ali Haider Gilani was recovered in a joint operation carried out by the Afghan and US security forces in southeastern Ghazni province.
Earlier, heavily armed men had kidnapped former premier Yousuf Raza Gilani’s son Ali Haider after killing his secretary in Pakistan’s Punjab province three years ago.
Ali Haider, 27, was campaigning in Mati area of Multan, 350 km from Lahore, when the gunmen intercepted his SUV and fired indiscriminately. The gunmen, who came to the spot on motorcycles and a car, took Ali Haider away with them.
