Ali Raza Abidi’s mother express dissatisfaction over murder investigation
KARACHI (92 News) – The mother of former MQM-Pakistan MNA Ali Raza Abidi has expressed dissatisfaction on the murder investigation of his son which was being conducted by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and the police.
In her statement, a murder case of late Ali Raza Abidi took a new turn when mother declared murder investigation of her son as inefficient. “We don’t trust the investigating institutions. A team comprising high-ranking officers should be formed,” she said.
“We just want justice,” she added. Ali Raza Abidi’s mother also appealed to the chief justice to take suo motu notice of her son’s murder.
Ali Raza Abidi murder case: CTD arrests four target killers
On March 4, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) police on Monday claimed to have apprehended four target killers in former Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) lawmaker Syed Ali Raza Abidi’s murder case.
Updating about the major development in Ali Raza Abidi’s murder case, CTD’s Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Naveed Khawaj informed that they had arrested at least four suspects, who were involved in the target killing, from different areas of Karachi.
The police officer also said that geo-fencing helped detect a suspect, Farooq, who was arrested today in the metropolis. Farooq identified three more suspects involved in the murder.
Naveed Khawaj said that the police on the identification of Farooq, conducted raids in Kharadar and other areas and took all the three suspects into custody. He said that the suspects were identified as Ghazali, Haseeb and Aboubakar.
The CTD official said that Farooq’s brother Mustafa alias ‘Kali Chiran’, Faizan and Husnain were at the large. He said that that the suspects killed the MQM-P leader after the 22 weeks long planning. The police official said that Bilal was included in the shooting team established for Abidi’s murder.
Naveed Khawaj said that they were interrogating the suspects to find out the motto behind the Abidi’s assassination.
Five key suspect arrested in Ali Raza Abidi murder case
It is pertinent to mention here that the former member of National Assembly (MNA) was shot dead on December 25, last year outside his house in the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) in Karachi.
A key progress development came in the murder case of Ali Raza Abdi. The law enforcement agencies arrested the accused on the identification of earlier suspect in custody of the police.
The sources also said that five members of an 11-member gang that was directly involved in Abidi’s killing, were arrested from Lyari. The rounded up accused have made startling revelation in the interrogation.
The gang killed the MQM’s former lawmaker on the political grounds by taking wage, the sources added. Furthermore, eight members of the gang were tasked to trace Ali Raza Abidi, whereas a trained rider along with the shooter was hired to assassinate him.The sources further said that two main accused of the case have fled to Iran, while further investigation from the held accused in the case was underway.
MQM LEADER ALI RAZA ABIDI SHOT DEAD IN KARACHI
Earlier on Dec 25, 2018, MQM leader and former MNA Ali Raza Abidi was killed in an attack outside his house in Defence Khayaban-e-Ghazi.
Three shots were fired on him. He was shifted to a private hospital in a critical condition where he died. A man was also injured in the attack.
After getting information, police and Rangers reached the spot and inspected the site.
SSP South Tariq Dharejo said that the attackers were riding a bike.”We have received three shells of a 9MM pistol.
