All opposition parties agree on 12-point Charter of Pakistan
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – All opposition parties agreed on the Charter of Pakistan during a meeting of the Pakistan Democratic Movement.
The 12 points include supremacy of the constitution, autonomy of parliament, an end to the role of the establishment in politics, independent judiciary, electoral reforms, impartial elections, defence of basic rights, rights of provinces and 18th amendment, effective local bodies system, freedom of expression, an end to extremism and inflation and implementation of the Islam sections of the constitution.
Talking to the media after the meeting on Tuesday, PDM chairman Maulana Fazalur Rehman said that the opposition parties reject the results of the Gilgit-Baltistan elections. "State machinery was used unchecked during the GB elections."
He said that they would not take rest until ouster of the 'selected' government. "The NAB and the FIA taking revenge from political personalities after registering the fake cases," he said.
Maulana Fazalur Rehman said that they had decided to expedite the movement. "The government is trying to ban public meetings under cover of coronavirus. The PDM meetings will be held as per schedule," he added.
