40 workers arrested as police launch operation on Imran Khan's residence

LAHORE (92 News) – As many as 40 people were arrested during an operation launched by the police on the residence of PTI chairman Imran Khan in Zaman Park on Saturday.

The police broke opened the gate of the house of Imran Khan. They also used baton-charge, shelling and water cannons. The workers also pelted the police with stones. According to the police, weapons, petrol bombs and other equipment were found from the arrested workers.

Punjab IGP Dr Usman Anwar said that the police had gone along with the search warrants.

"The door was opened when the inmates did not allow the police to enter the house. We took action after a thorough probe with the help of pictures and videos. Resistance was offered from inside and stones and petrol bombs were thrown on the police even today," he maintained.

The Punjab IGP said that it would not be allowed to make any area no-go.
