69th death anniversary of Saadat Hasan Manto observed

ISLAMABAD (APP) - The 69th death anniversary of Urdu story writer Saadat Hasan Manto was observed on Thursday.

Manto was born in Ludhiana, British India on 11th May, 1912. He wrote almost 250 short stories, a novel, five collections of radio plays, three collections of essays and two collections of personal sketches.

Some of his publications are 'Atishpare', 'Manto Ke Afsane', 'Dhuan', 'Afsane Aur Drame', 'Laazat-e-Sang', 'Thanda Gosht', 'Toba Tek Singh', 'Baghair Ijazat', 'Burque, Ratti', 'Masha and Tolah'. Some of his works have been translated into other languages as well.

He died on January 18, 1955 in Lahore.
