‘Black Day’: Pakistani political leaders express solidarity with Kashmiris

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – On the eve of “Black Day”, all the political leaders on Sunday expressed their solidarity with the people of Indian Occupied Kashmir (IoK). Condemning the atrocities of Indian occupied forces, in his message, Opposition Leader in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif said, “Kashmir is jugular vein of Pakistan and we will support them till they get their right for self-determination.” He also mentioned that Indian Modi-led Indian government cannot steal the dreams of Kashmiris by suppressing them. “Kashmir is an incomplete agenda of Sub-continent division,” he added. Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that the sacrifices of Kashmiri people will not go in vain, vowing to support Kashmiris morally, politically and diplomatically. Foreign Minister Shah Minister Qureshi said that innocent people of occupied Kashmir are forced to live like strangers on their own land from past three months. He minister said that India has turned occupied valley into a biggest jail as people living there are facing curfew. Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar said that Kashmiris have enlightened the freedom movement with their blood. “Guns cannot hold back Kashmir’s struggle of self-determination,” he continued. Foreign Office spokesperson Dr Mohammad Faisal said the world would be apprised once again of the enormity of the situation in the IoK. Several programmes, including rallies and seminars, have been planned throughout the country to express solidarity with the people of IoK. On the other hand, the Black Day is being observed against Indian occupation of Kashmir Valley. Protest demonstrations will be staged against India across the country. Rallies will also be taken out to express solidarity with the Kashmiris. The national flag will fly at half-mast at all state buildings. On October 27, 1947, the sufferings of Kashmiri people commenced with the landing of Indian troops in Jammu and Kashmir, which increased manifold after New Delhi revoked Articles 370 and 35-A of Indian Constitution on August 5, suspending the special status of Occupied Kashmir. In Occupied Kashmir, millions of people living in Kashmir Valley and Muslim majority areas of Jammu region continuing to suffer immensely due to strict military siege imposed by India.
