Check-post attack: Mohsin Dawar remanded in CTD custody for 8 days

PESHAWAR (92 News) – The security forces on Thursday arrested Member of National Assembly (MNA) and mastermind of Pakistan Army’s check post attack Mohsin Dawar from North Waziristan. The Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement (PTM) leader was presented in the ATC in Bannu where he was remanded into the custody of the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of police for eight days. “Accused is remanded to police for eight (08) days subject to pre and post medical checkup. Accused be re-produced before the court on dated 07/06/2019 (June 7),” read an order handed down by ATC Special Judge Babar Ali Khan. According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), a group led by Mohsin Javed and Ali Wazir, assaulted Kharqamar check post, Boyya, North Waziristan tribal district on Sunday morning. He has been on the run after an attack on Khar Qamar check-post by terrorists. After fleeing, Mohsin Dawar had criticized the Pak Army in an interview. He was produced before a magistrate in Bannu. He used to demand the withdrawal of Pak Army from Waziristan during speeches and hurled threats to the Pak Army. On May 26, a jawan of Pak Army was martyred in an exchange of fire when terrorists attacked Makkigarh check-post. According to the ISPR, the army jawans gave a befitting response to terrorists and foiled their coward attack. On the other hand, five bodies were found from a ‘nullah’ during partolling in North Waziristan. The Khamar Qamar Nullah is 1.5km away from the army check-post. The process to identify the bullet riddled bodies is underway. Khamar Qamar is the area where terrorists had attacked the Army check-post last day.
Five soldiers injured by firing of PTM’s group: ISPR
Five army soldiers were injured in firing opened by a group of Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) while attacking Khar Kamar check post, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Sunday. According to the ISPR, a group led by MNA Mohsin Javed and MNA Ali Wazir assaulted Kharqamar check post at the North Waziristan tribal district. “They wanted to exert pressure for the release of suspected terrorists’ facilitator arrested the other day. Troops at the check post exercised maximum restraint in the face of provocation and direct firing on the post,” the ISPR said. It also said that the attackers came with a motive to release some suspected terrorists, however, three attackers were killed and 10 sustained injuries in the exchange of fire, ISPR said. It added that due to the firing of the group as many as five soldiers also got injured. According to the ISPR, PTM’s leader Ali Wazir among seven aides were taken into custody, whereas, Mohsin Dawar [Member of National Assembly and PTM’s leader] managed to flee from the location.
Ali Wazir remanded in CTD custody for eight days
on Monday, an anti-terrorism court granted an eight-day physical remand of Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) leader MNA Ali Wazir to the Counter Terrorism Department officials in the Pakistan Army’s check post attack case. Ali Wazir, who was involved attacks on Pakistan Army’s Kharqamar check post on Sunday, was presented before an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Bannu. Ali Wazir has been transferred to Peshawar. During the hearing, the court ordered to hand Ali Wazir over to the CTD for eight days after which he was transferred to Peshawar for further investigation. It is pertinent to mention here that the PTM leader was arrested for provoking the protestors to attack the security force’s check post. The MNA was presented in local court in Bannu.
