KARACHI (92 News) – Chief Justice of Pakistan Saqib Nisar on Saturday became an organ donor. Speaking at the Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation, Justice Saqib Nisar said he had never been fully sensitized on the importance of organ donation. A 10-minute presentation by Dr Adeeb Rizvi, he said, had convinced him. The chief justice attended the first session of the committee formed by the Supreme Court to stop illegal trafficking of human organs for transplantation. The chief justice said the presentation by Dr Rizvi had caused him great anxiety. Dr Rizvi said a visit by the chief justice was an honour for the SIUT. Earlier, Chief Justice Saqib Nisar directed the Karachi Mayor to clean the city in a week. The remarks were made during the hearing of a report pertaining to the Water Commission at Karachi Registry. The CJP said that the condition of Interior Sindh is very bad. “The mayor should either collect donations or do anything else in this regard,” he remarked.
