Country can’t be run through charity, tax will have to be paid at all costs: Finance minister

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has said that the country cannot be run through charity and tax will have to be paid at all costs.

Addressing a ceremony on Tuesday, he said that the staff level agreement will be approved by the IMF Executive Board by the end of this month. “After the approval of the agreement, the issue of climate financing will also be discussed. The population bomb has exploded,” he added.

The minister said that Pakistan needs to make effective projects for climate change financing from the World Bank and the IMF. “We will have to form policies based on climatic changes. The private sector will have to play its role to improve the country’s economy,” he added.
