Maid torture case: Civil judge's wife arrested after cancellation of bail

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Additional Sessions Judge Farid Baloch rejected the bail of the civil judge's wife who was accused of torturing a maid brutally.

In the two-page verdict, the court ruled that her bail is rejected due to lack of scope. "The court cannot interfere in the investigations."

The court also ordered the police to investigate the case on merit.

After the cancellation of her bail, the police arrested her from the courtroom. Somia Asim, the accused, started weeping after cancellation of her bail.

The civil judge's wife was nominated in the torture case of the maid Rizwana who was critically injured.

Meanwhile, the joint investigation team (JIT) of the federal police was extended in addition to the extension in the scope of the JIT. As per details, three more officers, including a DSP, an inspector and a sub-inspector, were added to the JIT.

DIG Operations Shehzad Nadeem Bukhari is leading the eight-member JIT.
