COVID-19 claims more 46 lives in a day

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The pandemic coronavirus (COVID-19) has claimed more 46 lives in the last 24 hours as the nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 23,575 on Wednesday.

According to National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), Pakistan has reported 4,722 new positive cases as the number of positive cases has surged to 1,047,999.

Pakistan has so far conducted 16,215,728 coronavirus tests and 57,398 in the last 24 hours. 945,829 patients have recovered in the country whereas 3,858 patients are in critical condition.

The COVID-19 positivity ratio was recorded at 8.22 percent.

So far, 26,146,476 people have received their first dose of coronavirus vaccine and 937,656 in last 24 hours. 6,913,200 citizens have been inoculated second dose of the vaccine and 201,750 in last 24 hours.

The number of total administered doses has escalated to 33,059,676 with 1,139,406 in the last 24 hours.

Punjab remains the worst-hit province in terms of deaths followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Till now 11,104 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab, 6,069 in Sindh, 4,487 in KP, 804 in Islamabad, 634 in Azad Kashmir, 328 in Balochistan, and 147 in GB.

Furthermore, 389,699 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 359,321 in Punjab, 145,862 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 88,676 in Islamabad, 30,749 in Balochistan, 25,301 in Azad Kashmir and 8,391 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
