ECP issues schedule for Punjab Assembly elections

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Wednesday issued the schedule for the elections in the Punjab Assembly.

According to the schedule, the nomination papers will be submitted from March 12 to 14. The preliminary list of candidates will be issued on March 15 while scrutiny of the nomination papers will be done on March 22.

Candidates will file the objections against the nomination papers till March 27, while the candidates can withdraw their nomination papers till April 5.

Electoral symbols will be issued to candidates till April 6. Polling for the Punjab Assembly elections will be held on April 30.

Meanwhile, the ECP has also issued the schedule for by-elections on the six seats of the National Assembly vacated by PTI chairman Imran Khan. The polling for NA-22 (Mardan), NA-24 (Charsadda), NA-31 (Peshawar), NA-108 (Faisalabad), NA-118 (Nankana Sahib) and NA-239 (Korangi).
