Elections should be held within 90 days as per constitution: Ishaq Dar

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Senator Ishaq Dar has said that the general elections should be held within 90 days of the dissolution of the assembles as per the constitution.

Expressing his views in the Senate on Friday, he said that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) needed Rs54 billion for the elections and the coalition government had promised to give Rs46 billion.

"Enemy forces wanted to see Pakistan a defaulted country," he added.

Senator Shahzad Waseem welcomed the announcement of the elections date. "The elections is also the Doomsday as the day of accountability. Eleven parties continued to enjoy the power and now it was the time for the elections," he added.
