Environmental emergency imposed in smog-hit cities, schools & offices to remain closed for four days

LAHORE (92 News) - Owing to the smog situation, the Punjab government has imposed an environmental and health emergency in Lahore, Gujranwala, Sheikhupura and Hafizabad for four days.

Addressing a meeting on Tuesday, Punjab Caretaker CM Mohsin Naqvi said that educational institutions, government and private offices, cinemas, parks and restaurants will remain closed for four days, while markets will be closed on Saturday.

He said that marriage hall, bakeries, pharmacies and public transport will not be closed.

The CM said that children and elderly people are suffering from respiratory and eye diseases due to smog, urging them to wear masks.
