Federal cabinet approves removal of three IRSA members

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The federal government approved the removal of three members of the Indus River System Authority (IRSA) on Tuesday. According to sources, the cabinet has decided to immediately remove Federation Member Asjad Imtiaz, while the Punjab and Sindh governments will be asked to send the new names. Moreover, the cabinet approved an amendment to IRSA Act and appointment of the Pakistan Security and Exchange Policy Board. The cabinet was briefed about outsourcing the main airports of the country and the prime minister formed a high-level committee over the matter. The committee will prepare recommendations to outsource the airports and recommendations will be presented in the next meeting of the cabinet. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Imran Khan lauded the steps taken by Federal Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda. The prime minister said that justified distribution of water among the provinces is the need of hour and the Ministry of Water Resources should ensure it. The prime minister said that the government is ready to face the challenge of the locust attack and steps are being taken to counter it.
