FM Qureshi phones Belgian counterpart to discuss IOK situation

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Tuesday phoned Belgium Foreign Minister Didier Reynders and discussed the worsening situation in Indian Occupied Kashmir. During the conversation, FM Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that Indian unilateral acts had put the peace of the region at stake. “A new human tragedy seems to be emerging from the dangerous situation in Indian Occupied Kashmir,” he said. The Belgian foreign minister expressed his concern over the situation in Occupied Kashmir. He stressed the need to resolve the issue at the earliest through bilateral talks.
FM Qureshi phones Turkish counterpart, OIC secretary general
On August 26, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi had made telephone calls to his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Çavusoglu and Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) secretary general Dr Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen to discuss human rights violations by Indian troops in Occupied Kashmir. Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that Turkey should play its role to end the curfew in Occupied Kashmir. He also appreciated Turkey's efforts for the unity of Muslim Ummah. The Turkish foreign minister said: “We are observing the whole situation. After the Security Council meeting, Turkey has stressed to resolve the issue according to UN resolutions.” Both leaders decided to meet at UN General Assembly session being held next month. Meanwhile, the OIC secretary general also expressed concern over the situation in Kashmir.
