Imran Khan first gave extension to Gen Bajwa, now accusing him: Khawaja Asif

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said that Imran Khan had given extension to General (retd) Bajwa and now levelling allegations against him.

Talking to the foreign media on Friday, he said that Imran Khan and his lawyers are insulting the courts. "The general elections will be held on stipulated time in October. The no-confidence motion was tabled against PTI chairman Imran Khan in a constitutional way. Imran Khan dissolved the assembly unconstitutionally through the facilitation of President Arif Alvi and then NA Speaker Qasim Suri," he maintained.

He said that the government is striving to deal with the crises created by Imran Khan. "The former prime minister staged the drama of US conspiracy narrative through cypher. The negative attitude of the PTI is in front of all," he added.

Khawaja Asif said that the elections have been postponed due to security reasons. "It was not possible for the Army to perform duty at the polling stations due to internal and external issues," he declared.

The minister said that the government believes in the broad-based dialogues "Imran Khan is adamant not to appear in courts. The opposition was subjected to political revenge during the PTI tenure," he maintained.
