High flood at Ganda Singhwala as Sutlej River swells

KASUR (92 News) - The Sutlej River is in a high flood at Ganda Singhwala after India released water in it.

According to the authorities, the water level at Ganda Singhwala has reached 22 feet and it is likely to further increase in the next 12 hours.

In Pakpattan, a dyke of Baba Farid Bridge broke and as a result, dozens of villages were inundated.

In Bahawalpur, the water level rose to nine feet at Empress Bridge, inundating dozens of villages and damaging hundreds of acres.

The Pak Army is continuing the rescue operation and established free medical camps in the affected areas. Free ration bags are being distributed among the flood victims.

The rescue activities are underway in Mailsi, Chistian, Minchanabad, Pakpattan, Arifwala, Vehari, Lodhran, Burewala and Head Sulemanki.
