RAWALPINDI (92 News) - The Jamaat-e-Islami continued its sit-in against inflation for the seventh consecutive day on Thursday.

Addressing the participants of the sit-in, JI ameer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman announced that they would not end the sit-in until reviewing the agreements signed with independent power producers (IPPs).

He said that this movement can be changed into the ‘Government Hatao’ movement if their demands were not accepted. “On the one side, the government declares our demands justified while terms it impractical on the other side,” he added.

The JI ameer said that the government would have to show the IPPs agreements to the people. “Participation of the traders community in the sit-in shows each section of the society is worried due to inflation and hefty bills,” he maintained.
