LHC issues five-point SOPs to stop interference in judiciary

LAHORE (92 News) - Justice Shahid Karim of the Lahore High Court on Saturday issued five-point Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to stop interference in the judiciary.

In the written provisional order on the issue of harassing an ATC judge, the court ordered the PM Office to issue directions to the IB, ISI and all civil and military agencies, asking them not to contact any judge of the apex and lower judiciary as well as their staff.

The court also ordered the Punjab IGP to stop his subordinate officers to issue directions to stop interference in the judiciary.

It also directed the officers concerned to make decisions about security of courts in consultation with the relevant judge.

The court also directed the ATC judges to record each call on their cellphones.
