LAHORE (92 News) - A three-member bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday rejected the pleas against the formation of the joint investigation team (JIT) for a probe into the Zaman Park police operation.

The bench was headed by Tariq Saleem Sheikh. The verdict was read out by Justice Amjad Rafique.

Fawad Chaudhary, Hammad Azhar and Musarrat Cheema had challenged the JIT in the petrol bomb attack on the police.

The counsel for the petitioners contended that baseless cases were registered against his clients.

The prosecutor told court that there was information about presence of over 400 armed PTI workers who attacked and injured the police officers besides damaging the public property.

The court had reserved the verdict after hearing the arguments.
