MARDAN (92 News) – Mashal’s friend Abdullah has rejected all allegations leveled against them.

In a statement recorded under Section 164 in court on Monday, he said that Mashal, who was murdered in Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, was a firm Muslim.

He disclosed that he was pressurized to talk about blasphemy about Mashal. “There was no such thing in Mashal and I refused.”

Abdullah said that he and Mashal had been friends for last two months.

“Mashal was expert at English and topped each semester. On April 13, a student called and summoned me to the Department where I met Mudassar. I and Mashal were accused of blasphemy there. I recited the Kalma Tayyaba and read out its Urdu and Pashto translation,” he narrated.

He said that he was beaten up and closed in a bathroom of the chairman’s office.

Zubair, another friend of Mashal, said that he knew Mashal for last three years and he had never used blasphemous words.

He also raised questions about disappearance of university guards at the time of murder.
