Naegleria claims another life in Karachi

KARACHI (92 News) - Naegleria fowleri claimed another life in Karachi on Friday.

A 21-year-old youth was brought to hospital with fever from DHA area on Hune 18. Later, he was shifted to a ventilator when his condition deteriorated. He breathed his last on July 6.

Karachi Director Health Dr Abdul Hameed Jamani said that Naegleria fowleri had so far claimed six lives. Four victims belonged to Karachi while one each belonged to Hyderabad and Quetta.

He said that 21-year-old youth used to swim in the swimming pool of a private company.
