NEPRA approves Rs1.68 per unit increase in basic tariff of electricity

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved an increase of Rs1.68 per unit in the basic tariff of electricity.

The increase has been approved on the application of the government. An increase of Rs1.39 has been made for commercial and industrial consumers.

However, the increase will not be applied to the lifeline consumers and the consumers using up to 200 units.

After the increase, the per unit price of electricity has reached Rs24.33. The per unit rate for the consumers using 300 units will be Rs13.83.

However, the consumers using 400-700 units will pay the tariff of Rs21.23 per unit.
